Air Source Heat Pumps

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) work by transferring heat absorbed from the outside air to an indoor space such as an office or building via the wet central heating systems to heat radiators and provide hot water.

It works like a refrigerator. Air source heat pumps can also work as a cooling system in the summer months.

Air source heat pumps are usually placed outside of an office or building where there is adequate space.

This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor heating or warm air convectors & hot water in your building.

Heat pumps perform better with underfloor heating systems or warm air heating, this is where lower constant temperatures are needed.

ASHPs can get heat from the air even when temperature is as low as -15c.

The Key benefits you will get from ASHPs

  • Reduced energy costs
  • Potential income from the RHI (renewable heat incentive)
  • Reduced Co2 levels
  • Minimal maintenance required
  • They have a long lifespan with proper care they can be operational for up to 20 years
  • No fuel storage is needed
  • Provides cooling in the summer and heating in the winter

Due to the governments fossil fuel commitment – all new builds will not have Gas heating systems.
