Why not take advantage of the deregulation and save some money.
Frequently Asked Questions

Electricity
Who can choose an alternative supplier?
Since the completion of the deregulation in 1999, anyone can
choose to have their electric supplied by someone other than
the local Regional Electricity Company.
Why should I choose an alternative supplier?
The electricity market is extremely competitive, shopping
around could save you a significant amount on your monthly
electricity spend.
Why should I use a Utility Broker?
Utility Brokers spend all their time in negotiation with suppliers
and can access deals that are not available on the high street.
By using a specialist for your needs you know you are getting
the best deal available.
Why should I choose UtilityTrade to help?
We are an independent company, backed up by a national group
which gives us greater purchasing power, and thus access to
better deals. Our commitment to you is that if we cannot save
you money we will not charge you.
How do you charge?
For smaller customers we act like an insurance broker - we
are paid a commission by the supplier and we do not make any
charge to these clients. For larger accounts we charge a percentage
of verifiable savings, and negotiate directly with the supply
companies on your behalf.
Gas
Who can choose an alternative supplier?
Since the completion of deregulation in 1998, anyone can choose
to have their gas supplied by someone other than British Gas.
The Market was opened up slowly after British Gas privatisation
in 1986.
Why should I choose an alternative supplier?
The gas market is extremely competitive, shopping around could
save you a significant amount on your monthly gas bill.
How does it work?
The gas market works in a similar way to the banking market.
If you deposit £5 in a bank in York and then travel
to Manchester you can withdraw £5 - however it will
not be the same physical note. In the same way if a customer
in Manchester uses 10 units of gas then York as the supplier
would have to put 10 units into the system. It is the same
value but not necessarily the same destination.
