There are several methods of generating Combined Heat and Power (CHP) for your business.
The most simple method is using a natural gas fired internal combustion engine to heat a water source for your heating, this heated water will also power a small turbine which, in turn creates the electricity for your property.
Another more renewable option is to use a solid fuel Biomass combustion engine in the same way as the gas fired engine, this has the added advantage of having its fuel sourced from renewable sources.
A CHP system is far more efficient than using traditional separate sources for your heating and power and will lead to savings of up to 30% on your bills year on year.
A Biomass fuelled CHP system will also be eligible for a RHI payment, which alongside the savings on your bills makes this an enticing option for your business, especially if you are currently relying on expensive heating oil.
